BRIAN COSGRIFF - Head Coach
Coach Cos returns for a eleventh season as head coach of the Royals. With over 20 years experience coaching basketball (8 for the Hopkins Boys’ Program) he brings a tremendous commitment and work ethic to the girls’ program. His record coaching the Hopkins girls basketball team is 254-41. Brian is a physical education teacher at Alice Smith Elementary and is married to Lori Komoto. They have one daughter, Brooke Collette, and a golden retriever named Duke.

Tim Sension - Assistant Varsity Coach
This is the fifth year for Tim Sension as a Hopkins girls basketball coach. Tim brings 12 years of basketball coaching experience to Hopkins. He previously was the head boys basketball coach at Breck for 7 seasons. Tim has also coached basketball teams at Watertown, Bethany Academy, and in AAU. Tim and his wife, Susan, a teacher at Minnetonka live in Hopkins. |

CHUCK BURMEISTER - Junior Varsity Coach
Chuck Burmeister, returns for his tenth year with the Royals. Coach "B", a third grade teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary, has previously coached boys basketball at Breck School and has been an assistant coach for Hopkins girls basketball for seven seasons. Chuck and his wife, Brenda, have twin boys, Trace and Brandon. |

GARY WESTMAN - Sophomore Coach
Gary is in his fourth year helping coach Hopkins girls basketball. Gary has also been assisting the program by scouting opponents for the varsity team. Gary has 7 years of basketball coaching experience having coached traveling, AAU, and park & rec teams. Gary is also a member of the HGBA board and is a golf professional away from the basketball court. Gary and his wife Barb live in Golden Valley with their two daughters, Sarah and Meghan.

ELSTON PHILLIPS - Student Coach
We are fortunate to have Elston back for his third year student coaching. Elston assists the team by being a practice player on the scout team, running the clock in practice, offering his insight, scouting, and filming games. Elston brings years of experience as a player in the Hopkins boys program. His contributions to both basketball teams were the subject of a recent StarTribune sports column. Elston aspires to be a phy ed instructor and coach someday. |
